Dr. Bo Wang is a Professor of English and Codirector of the First-Year Writing Program at California State University, Fresno. Her academic work intersects comparative/cultural rhetorics, feminist/gender studies, postcolonial studies, and transnationalism. She contributes to program development, graduate mentorship, and curriculum design.
- PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English from The University of Arizona
Her research focuses on rhetorical theory, feminist historiography, and cross-cultural communication. She has published extensively in top-tier journals like College Composition and Communication and Rhetoric Society Quarterly, with recent work exploring Confucian philosophy in modern rhetorical practice.
Dr. Wang’s scholarship has earned recognition including the Mina P. Shaughnessy Prize (2009) and the Theresa J. Enos Anniversary Award (2015). She has held leadership roles on the Executive Committee of the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the Advisory Board of the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition.
As an academic service leader, she serves on editorial boards for the CCCC Studies in Writing & Rhetoric Series and Peitho, and reviews manuscripts for journals such as Quarterly Journal of Speech and publishers like Routledge.
