Blesson Varghese is an early career researcher in public health and epidemiology at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Public Health within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He holds a PhD in Public Health and specializes in environmental and occupational health, with a focus on climate change impacts, workplace heat exposure, and infectious diseases. His research integrates large-scale surveillance data to address injury prevention and heat-related health risks.

Research Interests: Work-related injury epidemiology, climate-sensitive diseases, heatwave health impacts, and occupational health policy. His recent projects include analyzing heat-attributable injuries using ARC grants and collaborating with the Bureau of Meteorology on heatwave demographics.
Grants & Collaborations: Part of a team led by Professor Peng Bi studying climate-sensitive disease burden. Previously involved in an ARC multi-institutional grant on extreme heat and workplace safety.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with the Bi Lab (Climate and Health Group) and the Bureau of Meteorology on interdisciplinary heat-related health projects.
