Blazewicz Jacek

Jacek Blazewicz is a Professor at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poznań. He has held significant academic roles at Poznan University of Technology (PUT) from 1987 to 2022, including Deputy Director and Director of the Institute of Computing Science, and at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, during 1994-1999. His career spans collaborations with prestigious institutions in France, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, and Italy.

• Education:
  • Master Degree (1974), PhD (1977), and Dr. Habil. Degree (1980) in Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Poznan University of Technology.

Blazewicz's research focuses on applying mathematical and algorithmic tools to model complex systems in industrial, computational, and biological areas. His work has significantly impacted scheduling theory and bioinformatics, particularly in DNA sequencing and RNA structure modeling.

His scientific contributions include 267 JCR journal papers and 98 articles in bounded volumes. He has served as a Principal Investigator for research projects worth 60 million euros, including NATO, EU, UK, and national grants.
