Blair Taylor

Blair Taylor is an Adjunct Professor at ArtCenter College of Design's College of Transportation Design, specializing in Industrial Design and mathematical principles applied to product aesthetics. He is a 1985 ACCD alumnus and has held senior roles in automotive and mobility design for over three decades.

Professional Experience:

• 2007–Present: Proprietor with clients including General Motors (Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, Bumblebee TF4 concepts), BMW DesignWorks (Mini, Rolls Royce), and projects for Embraer, John Deere, Scania, and MCI Buses
• 1991–2007: Co-Creator of Volvo's XC90 product line at Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center (VMCC); led design of the 2001 Volvo SCC (Safety Concept Car), which won Show Car of the Year and influenced the 2006 C30's interior design

Design Philosophy: Focuses on harmonic mathematical relationships in product surfaces to enhance emotional impact, emphasizing simplicity and elegance in automotive and mobility solutions.

Teaching: Instructs advanced modeling courses including TRAN-253-01: Model 4, TRAN-303-01: Model 5, and TRAN-253-02: Model 4.
