Bjorn Bohman

Bjorn Bohman is an Honorary Research Fellow and Research Officer at the School of Molecular Sciences, University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the ARC Centre for Plant Energy Biology. His work focuses on chemical ecology, plant-pollinator interactions, and orchid conservation. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and has expertise in semiochemical discovery and plant defense mechanisms.

Research interests include: Floral semiochemicals in orchids, plant pathogen interactions, and analytical methods for food chemistry (e.g., FTIR spectroscopy). He has supervised 1 documented research project and contributed to datasets on orchid pollination ecology.

Recent articles highlight work on bacterial antifungal volatiles, orchid pollination deception mechanisms, and endangered plant restoration strategies. His research aligns with UN SDGs related to life on land and sustainable agriculture.
