Birgit Coffey

Birgit Coffey is a Lecturer at the School of Mathematics and Statistics within the College of Science at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She specializes in statistics education, teaching foundational courses that emphasize data-driven decision-making and statistical literacy.

• Education: BA from State University of New York at Oswego; MS from University of Rochester.

Her research interests focus on statistical methods, data integrity, and applications in exploratory data analysis. She integrates statistical software like Minitab into her pedagogy to enhance computational skills. Coffey's courses, including STAT-145 Introduction to Statistics I and STAT-146 Introduction to Statistics II, emphasize business applications and statistical thinking over manual calculations.
