Bing Liu

Bing Liu is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Education, University of Manchester. She holds an MA in International from the same institution (2017-2018) and is currently completing her PhD thesis titled 'Building World-Class Universities in China: Global Trends, National Characteristics, Provincial Demands and Local Strategies' under the supervision of Miguel Antonio Lim and Steven Miles, with expected completion in August 2025.

Her research focuses on:

• Comparative analysis of higher education systems with emphasis on Chinese institutions
• Policy implementation strategies for developing world-class universities
• Global ranking methodologies and their impact on institutional governance
• Provincial-level education policy development in China

Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on Chinese higher education reform, examining strategic approaches to international competitiveness and provincial governance frameworks. She also contributed earlier work in analytical chemistry methodology.
