Bill Marcellino is a Lecturer at the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy & Technology (CMIST), a senior behavioral scientist at the RAND Corporation, and Professor of Text Analytics at the Pardee RAND Graduate School. He also serves as a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University. His academic foundation includes a PhD in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University, and he brings operational experience from his service as a US Marine tank officer and enlisted rifleman.
Research Focus: Marcellino specializes in interdisciplinary studies bridging technology and security, with emphasis on:
- Information as a warfighting function
- Military behavioral health (resilience, suicide/hazing prevention)
- Counter-terrorism and violent extremism analysis
- Social media analytics for large-scale conflict assessment
