Bikash Ghimire

Bikash Ghimire is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Plant Pathology at the University of Georgia's Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics (IPBGG), affiliated with the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on understanding and enhancing disease resistance mechanisms in crops, particularly wheat and turfgrass, through genomic and genetic approaches.

Research interests include genome-wide association studies (GWAS), fungal pathogen genomics, and the genetic basis of resistance to diseases such as Fusarium head blight, Septoria blotch, stripe rust, and dollar spot. He also explores biofungicide efficacy and agro-morphological trait improvement in wheat.
