Bhimu Patil

Dr. Bhimu Patil is Regents Professor and Director of Texas A&M's Vegetable and Fruit Improvement Center and USDA National Center for Melons. His 'Foods for Health' research integrates agricultural production with human health outcomes.

Key initiatives include breeding nutrient-dense produce, improving postharvest quality/safety, and studying health impacts of fruit/vegetable phytochemicals. He established a USDA Center addressing melon food safety and economic sustainability.

Honored as Fellow by six professional societies, he has secured $27M in grants and authored 244+ publications.
