Dr. Beáta Dobay is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Preschool and Elementary Education within the Faculty of Teacher Education at J. Selye University in Komárno, Slovakia. She holds a PhD and habilitation in Educational Science from Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger, Hungary.
Her educational background includes a degree in Physical Education from Testnevelési Főiskola in Budapest (1980-1984), followed by doctoral studies at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. She has served as head of the Physical Education Department at J. Selye University since 2004 and previously worked as an Assistant Professor at University of West Hungary (2006-2015).
Her primary research interests focus on sports and physical activities in adult recreation, sports tourism in Slovakia, and health promotion through physical activity. She has led multiple research projects funded by VEGA MŠ SR and KEGA MŠ SR, examining topics such as physical activity as prevention for musculoskeletal disorders, the relationship between regular health-promoting exercise and quality of life, and theoretical aspects of school physical education.
Dr. Dobay has mentored numerous students for scientific conferences, achieving notable success at both national and international ŠVOČ events. She has received recognition for her students' achievements, including first place at the Hungarian National ŠVOČ in 2019.
