Bettina Semler

Bettina Semler is a researcher at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology, part of the Department of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She leads the project Renewable production of olefins via bio-electrochemical approaches, funded by national companies, with involvement in environmental biotechnology research.

• Research Focus: Environmental biotechnology, bioelectrochemical systems for renewable olefin production, and microbial degradation processes.
• Projects: Currently leading the bio-electrochemical olefin production project (2025–2026) and contributing to related research (2023–2025).
