معرفی
Betsy Schock is an Assistant Professor in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry and a member of the Markey Cancer Center and Molecular and Cellular Oncology Research Program. Her research focuses on embryonic development, particularly neural crest cells and craniofacial formation, using Xenopus (frog) and mice models.
- Postdoctoral work at Northwestern University (2017-2024)
- Doctor of Philosophy from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (2017)
- Master of Science from Wittenberg University (2012)
Her work explores Sox transcription factors in neural crest cell fate decisions and develops patient-specific disease models for craniofacial syndromes. Recent publications highlight evolutionary developmental biology, gene regulatory networks, and monoclonal antibody development for Xenopus proteins.
Current projects include a National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research-funded study on SoxE transcription factors in neural crest specialization. Her research contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal for Education through academic innovation.
