Bethany Cagnol is a lecturer and science communication specialist at the Languages and Cultures Department of Télécom Paris. Over her 20+ year career, she has focused on English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), scientific communication, and language skills assessments for academic professionals. She co-authored the MOOC Promote your Scientific Results, which won the 2023 Institut Mines-Télécom Commitment, Pedagogy and Teaching Award.
Her research interests span scientific communication, public speaking, and English language instruction tailored for researchers and professionals in both public and private sectors. She has designed courses such as Public Speaking and Soft Skills Training, Conflict Management, and Mediating International and Scientific Communication, emphasizing practical applications for academic and professional contexts.
The MOOC Promote your Scientific Results (2021), which she co-authored, reflects her expertise in translating research into accessible formats for peers, the public, and media. Her publications and conference talks highlight her work in freelance education strategies, curriculum design, and inclusive science communication.
