Bethania Assy

Bethania Assy is an Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and State University of Rio de Janeiro. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research in New York and co-coordinates the UNESCO Chair on Violence, Government and Governance at PUC-Rio.

• Research Focus: Intersects Hannah Arendt’s theories, political subjectivity, human rights, and decolonial epistemologies. Her work emphasizes resistance as "re-existence" against systemic injustice.
