Beth Ribarsky

Beth Ribarsky is Professor in the School of Communication and Media at the University of Illinois Springfield, specializing in interpersonal and relational communication. Her research examines identity formation within romantic relationships and sexual communication dynamics.

Ribarsky developed the innovative 'Dating and Relating' course exploring romantic relationship formation. Her publications investigate media representations of relationships, organizational gossip functions, and attachment styles in long-distance relationships.

Honored with the Good as Gold Star Staff Award for community service, Ribarsky applies communication expertise to animal welfare advocacy while maintaining active roles in disciplinary organizations including the Central States Communication Association.
