Berta Fernandez Rodriguez

Berta Fernandez Rodriguez is Professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela's Faculty of Chemistry. She directs research in theoretical and computational chemistry within the QTEC group, with expertise in quantum methods development and molecular interactions.

Research develops computational frameworks for predicting optical activity, noncovalent interactions, and spectroscopic properties. Recent publications address semiempirical method refinement, chiral polymer design, supramolecular assembly, and NMR shift analysis. Work integrates quantum chemistry with materials science applications.

Her doctoral thesis (1991) established theoretical structural analysis methods for NCO-containing compounds under Drs. Luis Carballeira Ocaña and Miguel Angel Rios Fernandez.
