Professor Berry O'Donovan is a leading academic in higher education pedagogy, serving as Professor of Assessment and Learning at Oxford Brookes Business School. He holds prestigious titles including National Teaching Fellow (2009) and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2012). His work focuses on transforming assessment practices through initiatives like the Degree Standards Project, which has certified over 3,000 external examiners nationally. Research interests include academic standards calibration, student feedback literacy, and intellectual development across disciplines.
Key projects include the Advance HE-led Degree Standards Project (2016–2022), which piloted assessment calibration in fields from Business to Veterinary Science, and the Australian Achievement Matters project recalibrating accounting standards.
