Bernt Andre Moen is a Professor at the Department of Popular Music, University of Agder, Faculty of Fine Arts. His primary roles include teaching piano and ensemble performance. He holds a multifaceted career as a pianist/keyboardist, composer, arranger, and producer, with extensive international touring and recording experience.
Moen's research focuses on performance practices in jazz and contemporary music, reflected in his numerous concerts and albums. He has collaborated with artists across genres and countries, performing in venues like the National Jazz Scene in Oslo, Roadburn Festival, and international tours in Europe and beyond. His contributions to music education emphasize practical skills and improvisation techniques for pianists.
Key highlights include leading the Red Kite ensemble, releasing nine solo/trio albums, and contributing to over 100 performances annually. Moen’s work bridges academic teaching with active participation in the global music scene, emphasizing artistic innovation and cultural exchange.
