معرفی
Bernhard Schuberth is a Senior Research Scientist in the Geodynamics Department at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München, affiliated with the Faculty of Geosciences and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. He holds a PhD from LMU (2009) and conducted postdoctoral research as a Marie-Curie Fellow at Géoazur, Nice (2010–2012).
His research integrates computational seismology, geodynamics, and mineral physics to study deep Earth structure and dynamics. Key focuses include 3D seismic wave propagation, mantle circulation modeling, and linking geodynamic predictions to seismic data. He pioneered methods like 'tomographic filtering' to bridge geodynamic models with seismic observations.
Major achievements include demonstrating that thermal anomalies alone can explain observed seismic heterogeneity in the lower mantle and advancing spectral element methods for global wavefield simulations. Awards include the Marie-Curie Fellowship (2010–2012).
- Education: PhD (2009), LMU München; Diplom (2003), LMU München
- Grants: Marie-Curie Fellowship, EU-funded QUEST project
- Labs/Teams: Involved in global geodynamic modeling initiatives, computational infrastructure projects (CIG), and collaborations with institutions like Géoazur and the University of Michigan.
