Bernd Dollinger

Prof. Dr. Bernd Dollinger is a Professor of Educational Sciences with a focus on Social Pedagogy at the University of Siegen since 2010. His research explores theory and history of social pedagogy, youth criminality, professionalization, and social policy, particularly through the lens of Gangsta Rap and its intersections with popular culture.

• Current projects include AG5 Somatics of the Popular and involvement in the Center for Interdisciplinary Crime Studies (CiCS).
• He has led the project "Staging of Crime: Gangsta-Rap in Interactive Identity Practices" (2021-2024) and contributed to research on resilient gender regimes in music cultures.

His recent publications analyze youth crime narratives in Gangsta Rap, covering topics like norm violations, penal welfarism, and the ECHO award discourse. His work bridges social pedagogy with criminology, cultural studies, and narrative research.
