Bernard Vasquez

Bernard Vasquez is a Research Professor at the University of New Hampshire's College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, affiliated with the Physics & Astronomy Department and the Space Science Center. His work focuses on space plasma physics, solar wind dynamics, and turbulence in heliospheric environments. Vasquez holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Key research areas include hybrid simulations of turbulence in solar wind and ejecta, statistical analysis of magnetic helicity, and discontinuities in solar-wind dynamics. He has secured grants from NASA and NSF since 2000, collaborating with institutions and researchers such as Charles Smith, Harlan Spence, and Nathan Schwadron. His projects span topics like suprathermal ion populations, pickup-ion-driven turbulence, and heating mechanisms in the solar wind.
