Bernard Momer is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus, affiliated with the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Department of Geography and Sustainability (Institute for the Study of the Environment, Resources and Sustainability - IGS). Currently on leave until September 1, 2025, he maintains his supervisory role for graduate students.
Research Focus: Urban cultural geography and sustainability in mid-size cities, with specific attention to morphogenesis and the cultural landscapes of wine-producing regions in Canada. His work explores the intersection of local culture with urban planning frameworks.
Teaching Portfolio: Offers courses in urban geography, cultural geography, and planning including GEOG 128 Human Geography: Space Place and Community, GEOG 250 Introduction to Urban Geography, and GEOG 451 Urban Planning.
