Bernadette M. Mele

Bernadette M. Mele is a Clinical Professor of Diagnostic Imaging and Chair of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Quinnipiac University. She also serves as the Director of the Radiologist Assistant Program, where she teaches undergraduate radiologic sciences courses and graduate-level didactic and clinical MRI courses. Her career spans over two decades, transitioning from a radiologic technologist to a leadership role in medical imaging education and advocacy.

Publications include work on digital imaging techniques and MRI safety protocols. Her recent article "Pixel Perfect: Unlocking the Secrets of Digital Imaging in Radiography" (2025) and "Remote Control: Magnetic Resonance Remote Scanning and Patient Safety" (2022) highlight her expertise in advancing imaging technology education and safety practices.

Leadership and Advocacy roles include Chair of the Faculty Senate at Quinnipiac and Co-Chair of the Connecticut state task force on healthcare workforce shortages. She serves on the legislative committee of the Connecticut Society of Radiologic Technologists and volunteers with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
