Berend Poolman is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen. He serves as Programme Director of the Groningen Centre for Synthetic Biology and leads cutting-edge research on membrane proteins, synthetic cell construction, and bacterial physiology.
