Bereket Kebede

Bereket Kebede is Professor in Behavioural Economics at the University of East Anglia's School of International Development. He holds a DPhil from Oxford University and previously taught at Addis Ababa University.

His research uses experimental methods to study intra-household allocations, social preferences, and agricultural innovation in Ethiopia, India, Nigeria and Rwanda. Current EU-funded projects examine payments for ecosystem services in Rwanda's Nyungwe National Park.

Professor Kebede integrates econometric analysis with behavioural games to understand envy effects on technology adoption. He has directed large-scale household surveys including the Ethiopian Rural Household Surveys.
