Benoît Rossignol is a Professor of Ancient History at Avignon Université’s UMR HiSoMA laboratory, specializing in Roman Empire studies with a focus on the 2nd century AD, southern Gaul (notably Vaison-la-Romaine), and environmental history. His research integrates climatic and epidemiological factors into historical analysis, including leadership of the ANR Pscheet project on Roman epidemics. He actively participates in archaeological excavations across the Mediterranean and holds international collaborations through HiSoMA’s networks.
