- Capes and Aggregation in Classical Letters (1988-1989)
- Doctorate in Latin Studies (1996, Rouen): "Place and treatment of heresy in the work of Saint Jerome"
- HDR (2006, Grenoble): "A champion of orthodoxy in the 4th and 5th centuries: Jerome's intervention in the controversies of his time"
His research explores how Saint Jerome navigated theological disputes, utilizing classical texts within Christian discourse. He investigates biblical intertextuality, the construction of orthodoxy, and the reception of Greco-Roman culture in late antique Christianity. Jeanjean also examines the role of Latin literature in shaping early Christian identity and the adaptation of secular texts in religious contexts.
In his publications, Jeanjean analyzes Jerome's use of classical citations, the evolution of exegesis in Jerome's works, and the socio-political dimensions of late antique heresies. His recent conference in Split (2023) addressed Saint Jerome's stance against heresy, while earlier works delve into topics like the portrayal of biblical siblings and the intersection of ascetic ideals with historical realities.
He leads the LIBROS project, which involves collaborative French translation of scientific Latin texts (16th-18th centuries) from the Royal Naval Academy library in Brest. This initiative bridges academic research with secondary education, engaging students and teachers in classical text analysis and translation.
