Benjamin Vanmuysen

Benjamin Vanmuysen is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he joined in Fall 2023. A Belgian architectural designer, educator, researcher, and maker, his work bridges architecture, design, and art, with a focus on experimental materials, fabrication techniques, and art production.

Vanmuysen holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering-Architecture from KU Leuven, Belgium. He has taught at institutions including Pratt Institute, Syracuse University, and Pennsylvania State University, and practiced at firms like Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Office for Metropolitan Architecture.

His work has been exhibited globally, including at the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, and his writing appears in journals like PLAT and Lunch. He emphasizes interdisciplinary exploration and innovative design processes.
