Benjamin Scuderi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan's Department of Economics within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley (2022) and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University (2014). Prior to his current role, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Industrial Relations Section at Princeton University (2022-2023).
His research focuses on labor economics, applied econometrics, and industrial organization, with an emphasis on labor market dynamics, wage-setting strategies, and socioeconomic disparities. He has contributed to influential studies on income-related health disparities and gender gaps in adulthood.
Scuderi's work has been published in high-impact journals like the Journal of the American Medical Association and American Economic Review Papers & Proceedings. His ongoing research explores topics such as indigent defense systems, labor market power, and discrimination in jury selection.
