Benjamin Raimbault is a Lecturer at ESIEE Paris, specializing in Science and Technology Studies (STS) with affiliations to the Université Paris-Est system. He holds an engineering degree from AgroParisTech (2012) and a sociology PhD from Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (2018). His research focuses on industrial transformation, science-industry relations, and the sociological analysis of emerging technologies like synthetic biology. He co-leads the EHESS seminar '(Dé)Faire l’industrie', exploring long-term industrialization processes.
Key career milestones include a 2016 STS fellowship at Harvard under Sheila Jasanoff and a 2019–2021 IFRIS postdoctoral grant. His work examines the ecologization of industries, biotechnological markets, and governance of sociotechnical systems. Recent publications analyze scientific credibility frameworks and industrial knowledge production dynamics in France and the US.
