Rev Dr Benjamin Johnson is a Capuchin Research Fellow in the History of Catholicism at the School of Philosophy & Theology, University of Notre Dame, Australia, Sydney campus. He is a Capuchin Franciscan of the Province of Australia, actively engaged in research, teaching, and community formation.
Research Interests: His work centers on sacramental theology, particularly the interplay between the Eucharist and Marriage in the thought of Saint Bonaventure. He also explores Franciscan theology and spirituality, scholastic theology, and the relationship between theology and Christian experience.
The trends in his scholarly output reflect a deep engagement with medieval Franciscan thought, especially Bonaventure and Alexander of Hales, while also connecting historical theology to contemporary spiritual and social issues, including mysticism, vocation, and Catholic social teaching.
