Benjamin Bystrom is an Instructor of Finance at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii. He serves as Director of the UH Asian Field Study Program and Faculty Advisor for the Financial Management Association and CFA Research Challenge.

He has received multiple honors including the Dennis Ching Award for Teaching Excellence (2011, 2015, 2021) and has been recognized seventeen times as Professor of the Semester. His professional background includes executive roles at Morgan Stanley Tokyo, Merrill Lynch Tokyo, Moody's Investors Service, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, where he specialized in debt financings, cash flow modeling, and cross-border corporate transactions.
