Benedict McWhirter

Benedict McWhirter is a Professor in Counseling Psychology and Prevention Science within the University of Oregon's College of Education. His research focuses on adolescent risky behavior, resilience, sociopolitical development among Latino and low-income youth, and college student retention for diverse and first-generation populations, emphasizing connectedness to others, environments, and self as critical determinants of positive outcomes.
