Ben Q. Li

Ben Q. Li is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn's College of Engineering and Computer Science. His research focuses on automotive engineering, heat and mass transfer in energy technology, electromagnetic-thermal-fluids phenomena, materials processing, manufacturing systems, and multiscale modeling.

He received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989. His research has been supported by multiple grants including projects from Shining Energy International, Broad Ocean Technologies, and the Department of Energy.

Professor Li's extensive publication record demonstrates sustained research output in computational methods for multiphase flows, thermal processes, and materials behavior. His recent computational studies focus on phase field modeling of drop impact, solidification phenomena, and electromagnetic wave interactions with complex nanostructures.
