Ben Pearson

Ben Pearson is a Doctoral Researcher and Postgraduate Teacher at the Design School, part of the School of Design and Creative Arts at the University of Bedfordshire. His research focuses on the intersection of diversity, sustainability, and design industry practices, advocating for systemic changes to enhance creativity and equitable solutions. He is funded through a fully-funded PhD program.

Teaching & Research: Ben teaches modules on Interactions and Experiences (empathy and unconscious bias in design) and Experiential Futures (anticipating future scenarios). He actively mentors PhD students through Cranfield University's Idea 2 Innovation and Cambridge's Impulse programs, fostering entrepreneurship and research commercialization.

Professional Background: Prior to his PhD, Ben led medical and clean-tech projects at a design consultancy, emphasizing strategic innovation and sustainable decision-making. He volunteers as Doctoral Representative to advocate for students' interests.
