Ben-David Barr

Ben-David Barr is an Associate Professor and Department Chair in the Social Work Department at Samuel Merritt University. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare, MSW from University of Washington, and BS in Business Management from Westminster College. His work bridges academia and community practice, focusing on LGBTQ+ health, community organizing, and program evaluation. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County, developing LGBTQ+ youth programs funded by multi-million dollar grants. He has secured funding from organizations like the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Centers for Disease Control.
