Ben Baker is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. His research bridges jazz, popular music, and theoretical analysis, focusing on intertextuality, improvisation, and agency. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Music Theory from Eastman, an M.M. in Jazz Piano Performance from NYU, and a B.A. in Music and Mathematics from St. Olaf College.

Research explores jazz adaptations of post-1960 popular music, with a book project underway. Active performer:曾作为爵士和流行键盘手在纽约市从事全职 freelance 工作,参与音乐剧、合唱团伴奏及教堂音乐。曾担任纽约大学音乐表演系音乐总监和合奏钢琴师(2011-2015)。
