Ben Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Geography at Durham University, UK. His research focuses on the politics of affect in relation to emergency governance, neoliberalism, and contemporary political movements like populism. He has held administrative roles including Director of BA/MArts programmes and joint REF coordinator. Currently, he teaches a third-year module, Neoliberal Life, and leads an ESRC-funded project on digital media and emergency governance in Mexico.

Current affiliations include Urban Worlds, Politics-State-Space, and Economy & Culture research groups. He has supervised 19 PhD students and welcomes inquiries on affective politics, emergency governance, and neoliberalism.
