Belén Seral-García

Belén Seral-García is an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Zaragoza, and serves as Section Chief of Child Trauma and Orthopedics since June 2021. She holds an MD and PhD in Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery from the University Hospital Lozano Blesa in Zaragoza. Her expertise centers on biomechanics, mechanobiology, and computational mechanics, with a focus on bone treatments and orthopedic implant design.

Research & Grants: She has led projects like the EU-funded CAB-BONE (2012–2016) for patient-specific bone treatment predictions and a SECOT grant (2012–2014) on biomechanical tibia studies in knee arthroplasty. She has authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and 100+ conference contributions.

Affiliations: Member of the I3A (Aragon Institute of Engineering Research) and IACS (Aragon Institute of Health Sciences). Her research integrates clinical and biomechanical studies, such as her doctoral work on trochanteric fractures and Gamma nail vs. DHS Plate comparisons.
