Bello Sambo

Bello Sambo is a Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering at the School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield. He is also a member of the Institute of Railway Research. Sambo's research expertise includes modelling and simulation, wheel-rail contact dynamics, and condition monitoring. His work addresses challenges in railway engineering, such as impact loads at crossings, crack propagation, and rail profile optimization. He employs techniques like image processing and dynamic system analysis to improve predictive maintenance and reduce fatigue damage in railway components.

Recent research outputs highlight his contributions to wheel-rail interaction in switches and crossings (2023), impact load reduction (2020), and condition-based monitoring (2015).
