Dr. Bellee Jones-Pierce is an Assistant Professor of English at Centenary College of Louisiana. Her research focuses on early modern literature, disability studies, and poetics, with particular attention to intersections of formalism and ability. She coordinates Premodern Disability, a resource for scholars in the field, and teaches courses in British Literature, creative writing, and composition. Jones-Pierce holds a Ph.D. from Emory University (2018), an M.A. from the University of Alabama (2010), and M.F.A. and B.A. degrees from Georgia College & State University and Huntingdon College.
Her scholarly work explores disability as a shaping force in poetic form, arguing that lyric traditions are inherently influenced by bodily difference. Recent publications include analyses of Richie Hofmann’s poetry and John Milton’s early work. She also contributes creative writing, blending personal narrative with formal experimentation.
On campus, she advises Pandora Magazine (student arts journal), oversees Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society), and participates in Credo (first-year seminar program). Her campus roles reflect her commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between literary study and lived experience.
