Prof. Dr. Bedrettin Akova serves as a full-time Professor in the Department of Sports Medicine at Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Medicine. He previously held two terms as Deputy Chief Physician of Bursa Uludağ University Hospital (2008-2015, 2019-2024) and chairs the Ministry of Health's Sports Medicine Specialization Curriculum Committee since 2010.

He integrates sensorimotor control analysis with eccentric exercise protocols to address tendinopathies and athletic heart adaptations.
Professional Leadership: A member of the Turkish Sports Medicine Association (1995-present; board 2006-2010) and American College of Sports Medicine (2000-present), he presided over the 2011 National Sports Medicine Congress in Bursa. His 85+ publications reflect expertise in sports traumatology rehabilitation, supported by advisory roles for 7 theses.
