Bedir Tekinerdogan

Prof. dr. ir. Bedir Tekinerdogan is a Professor and Chairholder of the Information Technology group at Wageningen University & Research. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Twente (2000) and has extensive experience spanning over 25 years in software engineering, systems engineering, and information technology. Previously, he served at the University of Twente and Bilkent University, where he founded the Bilkent Software Engineering Group.

His research focuses on software architecture design, cyber-physical systems, model-driven engineering, and AI applications in agriculture and healthcare. He has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications and supervised numerous students. Key areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, big data, software ecosystems, and enterprise architecture. He actively participates in international conferences, serves on academic boards (e.g., Agromatics Society, VERSEN), and collaborates with industry partners on projects like IoT in agriculture (IoF2020) and FAIR data management systems.

Prof. Tekinerdogan teaches courses on artificial intelligence, software engineering, and big data, and has developed educational programs for companies globally. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to solve real-world challenges in domains like precision farming, smart cities, and critical infrastructure security.
