Becci Strawbridge

Becci Strawbridge is an NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Lecturer in Affective Disorders at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). Her research focuses on mood disorders, bipolar disorder, and treatment-resistant depression, with a strong emphasis on systematic reviews and clinical trials. She has contributed to over 93 research outputs, including influential studies on lithium supplementation, PMDD comorbidity, and cognitive performance in bipolar disorder.

Research Interests: Dr. Strawbridge's work spans affective disorders, systematic reviews of therapeutic interventions, and translational studies in psychiatry. She actively investigates EEG markers for cognitive dysfunction in bipolar disorder and evaluates lithium's clinical and cost-effectiveness in treatment-resistant depression. Her recent projects emphasize patient-centered approaches, such as shared decision-making apps for bipolar disorder management.

Grants & Projects: She leads the Lithium point-of-care testing (LIPOC) trial (NIHR-funded) and co-leads the Psych-STRATA program on pharmacogenomics in severe mental illness. Notable collaborations include the LQD trial comparing lithium and quetiapine for depression (published in Health Technology Assessment).
