Beatriz Costa

Beatriz Costa is a Junior Research Fellow in the Ultrafast Bio- and Nanophotonics group at INL. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minho, specializing in Medical Electronics. Her research focuses on developing 3D scaffolds integrated with nanodiamond photonics platforms for neuronal activity mapping in brain organoids and neurodegenerative disease models, as part of the Diamond4Brain project funded by La Caixa and FCT.

Her work combines microfabrication, imaging, cell culture, and microfluidics to study cell-microstructure interactions. She has conducted research internships at TU Delft (Netherlands) and INL, developing expertise in 3D micro-fabrication with femtosecond pulsed lasers and advanced bioimaging techniques.
