Beate Zimpelmann is Professor of Political Practice and Head of the INA M.Sc. program at Bremen University of Applied Sciences, based in Faculty 3 (Room M 109). Her office hours are Thursdays 11:30–12:30 with online appointments available via email, and she can be reached at +49 421 5905 4285.
Specializing in work-time reduction as evidenced by her 2024 book launch "Less work, more life," her research spans social-ecological transformation, Bremen's climate policy, and analysis of post-democratic tendencies. She investigates citizen-led geothermal networks as social innovations and examines transnational corporate impacts under Germany's Supply Chain Act.
Current research projects include:
- Accompanying citizen-run geothermal networks as social innovation initiatives (09/2024–03/2026)
- Social-ecological transformation in transnational companies under the Supply Chain Act (04/2023–12/2024)
- Bremen Citizens' Climate Enquete public events (05/2021–01/2022)
- Post-democratic tendencies and right-wing populism analysis (05/2018–03/2021)
She actively participates in HSB's "Facets of Sustainability" lecture series and upcoming events including "Startup meets migration" in September 2025.
