Beata Śniecikowska is a Professor at the Institute of Historical Poetics within the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. With a background as both a Polish philologist and art historian, she holds a PhD in literary studies and has established herself as a leading scholar in avant-garde studies, particularly focusing on the intersections of literature, visual arts, and sound.
Her research interests center on the visuality and audiality of verbal art, with special attention to literary logovisual forms and the phonostylistics of European avant-garde poetry. She conducts interdisciplinary comparative studies examining the relationships between literature and visual arts, literary studies and art history, and the connections between European literature and the culture of the Far East. A significant portion of her work also focuses on avant-garde and post-avant-garde literature and art for children.
Professor Śniecikowska's scholarly output demonstrates remarkable consistency and depth, with her most recent publications (2020-2022) exploring cutting-edge topics in intermediality, sound studies, and contemporary manifestations of avant-garde aesthetics. Her work spans multiple languages and engages with international scholarship, reflecting her active participation in global academic discourse through numerous international conferences and collaborations.

She has also co-edited significant volumes including 'Understanding Misunderstanding' (2020) and contributed to the 'Sensualność w kulturze polskiej' digital platform with approximately 120 articles on visual arts and museology.
