Beata Trzop

Assoc. Prof. Beata Trzop, PhD is an academic at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Zielona Góra, where she has been employed since 1995. Her career includes roles as deputy director (2008–2012) and director (2016–2019) of the Institute, and she leads the Youth Research Workshop. She is also a member of the board of the Section of Sociology of Youth and Education of the Polish Sociological Association.

• Education: Cultural Studies, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (1990–1995); Doctorate in Humanities (Sociology), University of Wrocław (2004); Habilitated Doctorate in Social Sciences (Sociology of Culture), University of Wrocław (2014).

Her research focuses on lifestyle dynamics, Polish-German border sociocultural phenomena, ageing societies, youth sociology, and gender studies. She has led and participated in projects examining cultural diffusion, social mobility post-EU accession, and pandemic impacts on youth and residents of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.

She has secured grants from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Marshal’s Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, and EU funding through the European Social Fund (Operational Program Human Capital 2014–2020). Her monographs include Mature, fulfilled, independent...? Women 50+ in a Sociological Mirror (2013), Men (Not) Today: Dilemmas Surrounding Contemporary Masculinity Patterns (2019), and Notes of Lubusz Residents 'From the Time of Plague' (2020).
