Bea Bleile

Dr. Bea Bleile is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of New England's School of Science and Technology. Her qualifications include a Diploma in Mathematics from ETH Zürich (1993), an MSc from UNE (1999), and a PhD from the University of Sydney (2005). Her research focuses on algebraic topology and its applications, particularly Poincaré duality complexes as generalizations of manifolds and topological data analysis of digital images.

Research interests center on manifolds in mathematics and theoretical physics, Poincaré duality complexes, and persistent homology in digital image analysis. Recent collaborations explore dual digital image constructions and interdisciplinary applications.

Teaching includes undergraduate units across mathematics and specialized postgraduate courses in algebraic topology, homological algebra, category theory, differential geometry, and topological data analysis.
